Join us for the second part of our Las Delicias river restoration initiative.
After the community raised funds to support the clearing of river debris and excavation work, the next step is to help protect the riverbanks so that the work can hold through heavy rains.
We are inviting the wider Nosara community to volunteer with us and help plant 3,000 vetiver along the sides of the river.
Vetiver is a strong grass with deep root systems that help stabilize soil, reduce erosion, and hold riverbanks in place during periods of heavy rain.
Why this matters
Las Delicias was heavily affected by flooding last year. This planting day is a practical way to support the community, protect the riverbanks, and help prevent future damage.
