combines global expertise with deep local knowledge. After five years of careful planning,
Shift Esperanza is preparing to break ground, positioning itself as a model for regenerative
real estate that benefits residents, the environment, and surrounding communities.
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee all on-site construction
activities, ensuring that our vision for sustainable, high-quality, and community-focused
development comes to life. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Nosara, Costa Rica,
reporting directly to the Director of Development. The ideal candidate thrives in dynamic,
hands-on environments, has a strong understanding of construction practices, and is
passionate about sustainable building and conscious development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage construction operations across multiple phases of the project,
ensuring safety, quality, and adherence to timelines.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors to implement
construction plans.
• Monitor construction progress, prepare reports, and track schedules and budgets.
• Ensure compliance with Costa Rican construction regulations, environmental
standards, and safety protocols.
• Oversee site engineers, construction supervisors, and labor teams, promoting a
culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Review and approve construction drawings, shop drawings, material submittals, and
technical documents.
• Manage procurement, logistics, and supply chain coordination for construction
materials and equipment.
• Collaborate with the design team to resolve technical issues and maintain design
intent throughout construction.
• Track project costs, monitor expenses, and support budget management and
reporting.
• Implement sustainability standards and regenerative practices on site.
• Support construction closeouts, commissioning, and handover to buyers.
• Promote a safe, productive, and professional work environment.
Role Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in construction management, ideally in multi-phase,
high-end residential or mixed-use developments.
• Proven experience managing teams on-site and coordinating with architects,
engineers, and contractors.
• Strong knowledge of Costa Rican construction codes, permitting processes, and
labor regulations.
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and cost control in construction projects.
• Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
• Commitment to sustainable construction practices and regenerative design
principles.
• Ability to work on-site in Nosara
• Proficiency in construction management software and Microsoft Office.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and collaborative mindset.
