Kitchen

A circular island sits at the heart of the kitchen pod, beneath bamboo ceilings, with glass walls opening straight into the canopy.

Living

Two sculptural curved sofas face an expansive glass wall that follows the spiral of the plan. There are no hard corners, the room bends with the forest beyond it.

Bedrooms

Three to four bedroom pods, each lifted into the trees on slender white pillars, with curved bamboo-slat ceilings and glass walls that make the canopy the fourth wall.

Bath

3.5 bathrooms. The primary bath centers a free-standing tub beneath a tall arched window, with twin vessel sinks on a curved vanity.

Studio / Flex

A flexible fourth pod configures as a guest suite, studio, or meditation room, the same shell, adapted to how the season and the household change.

OUTDOOR LIVING

The Biopool

A naturally filtered biopool curves through the central courtyard, no chlorine, no hard edges, just water treated by plants and stone the way the land already does it.

Courtyard & Deck

Wooden decks and walkways spiral between the pods, so moving through the house means stepping outside, every day, in every season.

Bamboo Roofs

Undulating bamboo roofs shade the glass, catch the breeze, and give the home its silhouette, a locally grown material doing structural work.

FLOR DE VIDA

Designed by Jaime Peña Studio, around the geometry of a flower.

Flor de Vida takes its plan from the Flower of Life, a spiral of curved pods set into the slope, each one lifted on slender pillars and roofed in locally grown bamboo. There are almost no straight lines in the house, and no room that doesn't open to the forest.

Because the volumes are separated, circulation happens outdoors: you cross a deck to reach the kitchen, step down a walkway to the biopool, climb to a bedroom in the canopy. 2,885 ft² across three levels, three to four bedrooms, and 3.5 baths, sized for a family and built so the land keeps running underneath it.

Built on the Spiral

The plan follows the Flower of Life, pods arranged along a spiral so no two rooms face each other and every one faces the forest.

Elevated Pods

Living volumes lift onto slender tree-like pillars, letting water, air, and wildlife pass beneath instead of being built over.

Bamboo Structure

Curved bamboo roofs are locally grown, fast-renewing, and do real structural work while shading the glass below.

Natural Biopool

A plant-filtered biopool replaces chemical treatment, staying swimmable year-round with a fraction of the maintenance.

Cross-Ventilated

Glass walls open on opposing sides of every pod, so the sea breeze does the cooling instead of a compressor.

Three Levels, One Path

The house steps down the slope in three levels connected by outdoor walkways, minimizing cut and fill on the site.

The biopool sits at the center of the plan, wrapped by a wooden deck that connects every pod. Filtered by plants and stone rather than chemicals, it stays swimmable year-round and asks almost nothing of you.
